Hi,

GQ TB42E (1993) automatic transmission : Since the purchase of the vehicle, our techometer has never worked correctly: sometimes he gives indications, but which do not seem to me right but, generally, the aiguile is stuck side 6000 r/min... Where is situated the sensor (nobody in France seems to know because here vehicles are especially diesel with uncapteur behind the injection pump) ? What to clean before unsettling everything?

I would like to avoid buying a new tachometer which would very be expensive to me at Nissan:furious:

Thanks !

TB42E gets the tacho feed signal from the engine computer. The crank angle sensor is in the distributor but would be very unlikely that the sensor is faulty as it is a critical sensor and without its signal the engine will not run.
Have you considered buying an aftermarket tacho?

(sorry, I use an on-line translator...)

Ok, ok, thanks !

Parts in occasion for GQ TB42E are untraceable in France. For the new, the deadlines are enormous and similar for the prices (there are less than about ten TB42E in circulation here...)

For the aftermarket I would look on the forum, but the probleme it is postal charges and customs taxes.
