Air Box Seal Failure..... A big thank you...

after reading on here about the air box sealing rubber perishing I decided to purchase a new silicone type one online and install it when the Dato came back from getting a respray.

First thing I done as soon as I unclipped the lid was to run my finger along where the seal is, sure enough I could feel it was split in several places.

A big thank you to all on here for sharing this valuable piece of info.

I would think an overlooked part before any big trip,,, who would check that??.
Really one of the first things to check or better still replace

I recently replaced my big tb45e barrel airbox with a td42 airbox to free up a little room under the hood. The old seal was shot so i made a new one. 6mm round rubber from Clark Rubber and some loctite superglue for the join. Might pay to make a few to keep in the toolbox.
