Hey everyone I recently bought a 2004 y61 4.8l with roughly 123km on the clock. The guy I got it off told me about the issue but I thought I'd take a risk and buy it anyway. Occasionally it will lack power and when it does this if you touch the throttle it just wants to stall. I have replaced the fuel filter and no success. I can hear the fuel pump working fine. It has a new throttle body + MAF sensor. New spark plugs also. It really has me stumped, Im kind of leaning towards 02 sensors but not 100% sure. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Maybe take it to Super Cheap and get them to check if any codes come up.
Are there any small in line filters??

No inline filters I can see but haven't had a good look yet. I'll check it out

I've not owned one, only driven fleet 4.8's and they were awesome on the long trips

Be suprised if it is a mechanical issue, just about guarantee it will be a dodgy sensor or ECU input.
4.8's are esp prone to faulty 02 sensors causing grief, not sure about the throttle inputs etc.

Not much help here, but I had a chap come over in a black 4.8 with the exact same issue. Just bought it too... We tried a new MAF and it was a no go. I always wondered if he had found the issue....

Did these come under the TPS recall?

Did these come under the TPS recall?
Was just going to suggest that.

TPS recall? Not sure, would it have been replaced with the new throttle body? Or is it a reprogramme of some sort? It hasn't played up in a few days now. Intermittent problems are such a pain to fix!

Mate try disconnecting the battery overnight, this will reset the ecu that may help.

I'll give it a go tonight and let you know how I get on, although it hasn't played up in a few days so will be hard to tell. Cheers though!
