I put in a new intercooler about a month ago and the truck has been beautiful to drive. Could not make it go into limp mode even when I was trying. Now for some reason I came out of work this afternoon and it would not stop going into limp mode.
Need some help. This car is doing my head in. I have never had a car give me as much trouble as this Patrol. I love it when I am out in the bush but I don't think I can put up with this much longer.
Cheers Scott
FYI 2004 GUIII. Dawes & needle. Intercooler, 3" exhaust.

Have you checked all hoses, cleaned MAF etc ? Surely somethings given way since all of a sudden it's doing it that much.

Too dark when I got home. Won't go over 2500 revs and limp kicks in. I will have to look tomorrow but it was fine driving to work in the morning.

What boost pressure is It hitting limp? You got a spare maf to swap over?

Only 14psi. I have another that I swapped out previously that I can try tomorrow. Just want to get it sorted because I have ban the wifey from driving again. Too dangerous.

Limp mode has got to be one of the biggest pains in the rrss on these cars. This may or may not help, the HPD billet maf housing will kiss your limp mode issue bye bye. They aren't cheap but they are proven to work. I use one, and I have had the boost needle off the gauge, 30psi gauge, and still no limp mode.
But suddenly going into limp mode without you touching it sounds electrical to me. Even disconnect the battery for an hour and try again.

Covo what have you found, all sounds a bit strange, But once you find the problem,, investing in the
HPD MAF housing might be worth while, maybe Dr Gary can give his view on it,??

Okay, maybe dumbass me again. When I was pulling things apart I looked at air filter and there was dirt on the top of the foam/rubber ring on the top so not sealing. I looked in side and it was a bit crushed. Seems like I may have tapped it a bit hard getting the dust out a few weeks back and let dirt through and probably dirtied up the MAF. Changed the filter and only went in to limp once so drove home ordered the HPD housing yesterday morning and it showed up today. How quick is that? So put it on today and it now spot on. Feels better but don't know if that is my head. So to summarise my fault again.
