Hi,

So I've installed a provent catch can (supplied by western filters marketed as patrol kit - basically includes some fittings and hoses) on my 4.2 turbo GU non-intercooled.

I'll post the pics first then write what they're about.

Basic tools. (my actual tools are all at work so these are my home handyman set) screw driver for hose clamp, allen keys optional depending on how you attach the bracket and catch can, drill & bits (cutting compound If youre OCD like me), I also used a right angle adapter chuck to make it a bit easier to drill where I wanted to, 1/4" socket set, spanners, combination tool (I basically just used it for the knife).
Also a can of metal primer or any paint really just to seal the bare metal after drilling.

The completed bracket made out of 4mm(? I think) stainless

This is where I'm mounting to. There's an existing bracket at the firewall end of the passenger side. You can see in the pic I've already drilled the holes and given them a quick spray with silver rust guard primer/sealer type paint.

This shot is from the firewall looking forward as I am mounting to the back of that factory bracket. I've used stainless allen key head bolts to mount the bracket and catch can.

Added the supplied 25mm hose (cut in 2) to the inlet and outlet of the catch can and added the 25-12mm plastic adapters

The supplied 12mm hose to connect to the factory air intake and the factory crank case vent on top of the rocker cover. These hoses are tight so it pays to add a very light smear of oil/grease to help work it on to the intake. Also remember to put the hose clamp on before you connect it, if you forget, you can loosen the clamp right off and open it up but you may bend it out of shape getting it over the hose a bit but its only a low risk of stripping thread, just take care when re-tightening.

Completed install

The only other thing I have left to do is to TIG a hose entry into the oil return line from the turbo to the sump. At the moment the drain is just zip tied in the engine bay.

Very good mate, I'm sure that will help others out, cheers for the effort.
