Hey guys, I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this issue for me.
My head unit wasn't functioning properly so I decided to pull off the dash fascia and have a look.
I discovered a heap of dodgy wiring using scotch locks and some poorly crimped butt connectors, but that wasn't the biggest issue.
Whoever did this install cut the original female plugs (from the nissan harness).
I was able to find the two I needed, problem is they havent got all the same colours that my harness has.
Is there any way I can identify each indvidual pin on the plugs or match the odd colours up?
I'm really stuck. :frown:

If you know the model number and brand of your head unit you will be able to download the installation manual which will have a wiring diagram for the plug.

Gu or gq?
I remember we have a gu wiring diagram on here in the DIY electrical section or just do a title only search on stereo wiring and you'll find it.

Question time
1) Is it the original GQ head unit or aftermarket?
2) Do the speakers look original or aftermarket?
If the previous owner ran new speaker wire, no manual will help you would be easier 2 pull the door trim and see what color wires are running to each speaker

So, thanks for all the help so far.. After some searching last night I found this http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Nissan-Wiring.pdf
Helped with some of the wires, not all.
Then.. I discovered the diagram straight from the Haynes Service Manual.
With that, I discovered the female harness connector I bought (factory nissan plug) - which was second hand, was pinned wrong.
Now to re-pin in the correct positions, solder the wires to the harness and plug up to my aerpro plug and play adapter harness.
