Hi All,

Have just upgraded the suspension on the GU. Went with Koni shocks and the following king springs;
KDFR-42HHD Front
KDPR-59SP 500kg rear

Blooody hell - it gained more than 2 inches and it now drives better than my old Pajero - no more hooking left!! The issue I have it that at present both the front and rear are dead equal. Given I went through Wilkinson to get the springs and they looked over the car they assured the back would sit higher than the front. I'm often towing a camper with 150kg tow ball down weight - hence the 3 inch lifted springs in the rear. I am assuming the rear of the car will sag about 15-20mm with the camper on.

What options do I have to make the car level with the camper? Coil spacers - different springs - airbags?

The ride is amazing compared to what it was, for the record.

Thanks in advance.

I have 30mm spacers on the rear of mine due to the weight (rear bar, drawers, rock sliders) and they bring the height up to the correct level. I have not had a problem with them and I have done quite a lot of off-road with them installed. Sand, rocks, ruts etc. where the suspension has been flexed to the maximum.

If the car is level without weight on it then I don't think air bags will help as the springs might not be sagging. Mind you I don't have air bags so can't be certain.

Instal spacers, air bags and spring tower supports to help. Or you could go the heavier springs, just make sure you do the tower supports

Dad is running airbags in his gu. Sits daily level when empty and when to when towing.

Sorry I don't have better pics, I don't usually take pics of his!

Thanks all for the responses.

I measured the car and here are the results;
Bumb stops rear
Loaded 120mm
Unloaded 130mm

From top of hub to bottom of wheel arch;
un loaded - 540mm front and back
Loaded 525mm rear 545 front

I also spoke with the guys who I got the springs off, they don't recommend adding spacers to the rear, they said if I want it to sit level then dropping back to HD springs not the HDD will obviously settle it. This is rather annoying as I told them exactly what I was going to be doing with it and that I wanted the rear to sit 15-25mm higher than the front unloaded so when towing it would be level.. Now they want another $250 for more springs...
