Hey guys.

Seem to have an intermittent miss. Some days it's fine, others it's there. Clears under load. Only really happened after going through a big mud hole, not bonnet deep but maybe some steam got into something? Car has new plugs, new dizzy (reasonably well sealed I think, lots of silicone haha), new rotor all done around 5,000kms ago.

Should I be looking at leads? If there is steam in the dizzy/coil wouldn't it be a permanent miss?

Do all of the easy stuff first. Check all of you vacuum hoses. Check your inlet manifold by spraying WD40 around it. If it has a leak the revs should pick up as the spray is sucked in and burnt.

Thanks mate. If all that checks out, would it be worth getting a mist spray water bottle and slowly spraying around the electrics to see which bit makes the middle worse?

Wouldn't hurt I suppose. I see you have replaced the dissy and plugs. How old are the leads? I have just replaced mine as two broke down around the time I went to Beachport / Robe before Christmas.

Not too sure, leads were on the car when I bought it. So they'll probably be on the to do list next.

do a re fresh of the leads spray some battery terminal goo
in the connectors to make them water tight,
I've always found a drop of water in the bottom of the coil lead
change your plugs too then you have a starting point on service history
