Hey Guys,
Just getting some ideas for the moment.
ive got some rust in the drivers rear corner of the roof and also in the gutters. the only thing I have ever done to the body is cutting the hole for the snorkel so not too keen to tackle it myself...but if it sounds simple enough ill give it a go
Question is has anyone paid a panel beater to do it and roughly how much did it cost?
also a friend was telling me about the POR15 and it seems easy enough but I need to know how much prep it is.
If pics are needed I can get them tonight.
Cheers

I had a panel beater do the rust in the roof of my shorty. It was a 'Cash' job though..
He removed the screen, roof lining etc.
Stripped the entire roof to bar metal
Cut and plated the big spots.
Led wiped any small pin holes ,that he only found after stripping the roof back.
Sprayed rust kill and rust preventative into the spaces between panels etc with a wand.
Also fixed up a bit of rust on the Windscreen surround while he was there and put it all back together and painted
All up it was 2k, but as i said that was a 'Cash' job (bear in mind we have used him for quite a number of large jobs). It was also a 'repair to keep' rather than a 'repair to sell' job..

PPOR 15 is awesome stuff just prep the area first with rust converter or similar and paint on.
More suited to chassis a diff housings 10/10 every time not tooooooo $$$$$$$ IMO for what you get
500ml I think is around $80

I wouldn't use POR15 on the outside if it were me. Your going to paint over it so it will be hard to get a good finish. But POR15 is awesome stuff.

???
I use POR15 all the time and is perfectly fine to use on the outside as its primary purpose is a primer, not a final coat. However, you can leave it U coated and will not lose any of its characteristics apart. From its colour as it is not UV stabilised straight out of the can. You can purchase a uv stabiliser and add it to the POR and it will not fade to an off white colour.
Will be perfect for your gutter areas.

Is it cancer rust or surface and discolouration of paint?
