As long as the oil is remaining inside the motor & circulating ok ......... can you have too HIGH oil pressure?

On my new gauge I get a higher pressure whilst the oil is still cold as I would expect. The gauge reads up to 80psi & the reading goes right to the top of the gauge.
Once hot it will sit at around 60psi with a few revs, dropping to around 20 psi at idle. Sender unit is taken from the same position as the factory sender unit (using a T piece).

I suspect this is normal & good, but would be nice to have this confirmed. Oil is Penrite 20/60 semi synthetic.

I remember reading a while ago about some td's using a oil filter with inbuilt pressure bypass in them. This why some run 2 different filters.
So are you running the 2 different filters? Could be contributing??
But I doubt that little increase will hurt it

Yes you can get excessive oil pressure which does have its dramas.

All your readings are well within limits though cuppa. Pretty much spot on.
