Been a member on here for a while but never said anything, just come on here and search when I need assistance lol. Bought a new Patrol about 6 months ago so thought I might chuck a build thread up here.

Swapped a car for this Patrol, so owes me about 5-6k. The other bloke I rekon got the better end of the deal as the patrol was only TB42 and was a bit rough around the edges. So here's my Pootrol when I first picked it up. Just a stocko TB42 on petty and gas, 2" suspension lift, velour interior, leccy windows, use to have leccy mirrors but they're held together by silicone lol. It's a 5spd but after getting my bro to do a VIN check at his work we realised it was originally an auto....which makes sense as the radiator has connections for trans lines and there's a gadget in the passenger footwell which apparently is for an auto trans lol.

First mod was to remove the ugly roof rack lol

Threw some 35" BFG muds on it, also by now I'd replaced the 2" lift with 3" lift and also added 2" bodylift blocks, so 5" all up, plus the added ground clearance from the bigger tyres, I'm happy with how it sits now.

Then after I worked out I was getting 30L per 100km on gas I decided I wanted a TD42 lol. I didn't wanna sell this patrol coz I absolutely love it, and my last patrol was a TD42 and I regret selling it. So I decided to chuck a TD42 into this Patrol! This red TD42 GQ popped up for $2000 so I snapped it up! Rego'd it and used it as my daily for about a month, it was an awesome rig, averaging about 12L per 100km, even got it to 11.6L per 100km over a tank and I still wasnt taking it to easy.

The Pootrol is bout to get a diesel!! I'm the one standing next to it, my little bro is on the fork. He's also doing a TD42 conversion into his shorty...so we're both helping each other out lol.

Scored the aux battery tray out of my lil brothers donor car. Painted it up and chucked it in.

The oil feed line for the turbo which come in the kit looked a bit dodgy, afterall it is a chinese ebay job lol. So got the local hydraulic place to knock me up another line. Cost $90, ya can def tell ya get what ya pay for coz the new fittings look so much better and the braid is sooo much neater on the good stuff.

And yeah that's about it so far. If anyone needs any advice on a TD42 conversion just sing out coz so far it's all been easy! :)

Thanks guys. Nah not on the road yet, hopefully within a week or two. :)

The AC is shittin me off at the moment coz I wanna run the DKS-16H compressor off my TB42 as I know it worked and worked awesome. The compressor on the diesel is a SD7H15 and I don't think it's been used for years (so far all the pipes that I've undone havent had seals in em) so I wanted to keep the original compressor but need to find a bracket to fit the DKS-16H to the diesel. Apparently the TD42's ran both compressors so someone out there I'm sure has a bracket, I just gotta source one lol.

Still need to fit the diesel tank and switch the fuel lines over if needed. Just about have the engine bay sorted, just doin the vacuum and fuel lines at the moment.

Havent started on the wiring yet. Just gonna switch the looms and run the diesel loom in my Patrol. Problem with that is my donor rig doesnt have power windows or power mirrors so I'm gonna strip the TB42 loom down and pull the wiring for the windows and mirrors out of it and add it in as a separate loom with the diesel loom. Might sound like a head f**k but have already sussed it out. My little bro brought his TB42 loom around the other day and we nutted it out, was pretty simple overall. He plugged the new power window harness into his shorty and his windows work again so we must be on the right track lol.
