just seeing if anyone has used this dual battery kit i can get the cheap and dont know if i should just save up some more coin

I have not heard of any issues with them.
They are clones of the other 140 Amp systems that are around.

Personally I prefer dual sensing Isolators such as the Redarc SBI12D but as a 'standard' Isolator they should be OK

I agree with ET above as most 4wd are running Redarc or similar. I have heard a couple of good reports from boat owner friends though.

I would only use the over ride function on that for emergency power. Not back up cranking or winching.
170A is to low.

The redarc simple isolator only a few $$$ more will handle a burst of 400A. So cranking of second battery is an option then.

But that supplied cable won't handle crank current so is sized accordingly to the max amp of the unit.

I run the redarc sbi12, got the full red arc kit, delivered from Ebay for about $220 from memory, was a little while ago.

It's done brilliantly for me so far.
