Hi folks,
On my new (to me) '06 Patrol I want to change all the fluids & filters so I *know* what I'm starting with.

I have the Owners manual, but I'm buggered if I can find what quantities of oil to use other than for the motor. Can anyone help fill in the blanks please?

Engine oil - 10.5 litres
Gearbox oil
Transfer case
Front diff
Rear diff

Coolant 14.7 litres

-----------------------------------

I would also welcome any oil recommendations.
Do you reckon it's worth putting synthetics in the gearbox, transfer case & diffs. (I did that on my Troopy, but it was bl**dy expensive).

If anyone has the replacement filter part numbers, it would save me trying to be a contortionist to see what is on the existing filters.
Air
Oil
Fuel

Is there any advantage in fitting one of those glass bowl CAV type fuel filters in addition to or instead of the standard fuel filter?

I did try to search for this info on the forum (I'm sure I'm not the first to ask) but failed to find it.

regards
Cuppa

This thread has a lot of the information you need; http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?1587-What-to-keep-my-eye-on-Preventative-Maintenance&highlight=preventative

Thanks Tony, that is a good thread that I expect I'll return to again & again.
However ........ whilst I got some of the info I'm after,I didn't get it all.

I am still chasing filter part numbers - -possibly the same as in that thread, but as it only goes to 2005, I am uncertain if they are the same for my 2006?

It also says that GU diffs are different, but gives no capacities?

So I got much of what I needed there, thanks, but still need confirmation of filter part numbers & front & rear diff capacities.

Thanks

Well, I'll just buy extra oil so I know that I'll have enough for the diffs.

I now have all the info I need except for oil filter numbers. Trawling through the net results in further confusion. It seems that Nissan in their wisdom have fitted different filters at different times, & that the only way to know for certain which oil filters to use is to take the old ones off first. Ridiculous!
The front filter on my car is a Z115 equivalent. (Silverline OF9SL). Ryco say I should use a Z503.
Can't see what the rear one is - looks the same size. Ryco say it should be a Z416 but my net 'research' suggest it could be a Z416 or a second Z503.

It is a real PIA when living 30kms from town. Seems like I should buy a couple of Z503's & a Z416 to cover all bases.
