So it's that time again. Avalon Airshow 2015 is just around the corner and I am part of the AIRSHOW Ground Operations AGO 4WD Operations - Tarmac Control

The theme this year is "Heroes of the Sky" Celebration of a Centenary of ANZACs

Over the next week I will be part of the roll out and then public days of the Airshow.

I will be a Tarmac Control Vehicle doing Plane Escort, Pilot Escort,, and Fire Guard.

Going to be a great week.

What is she doing there? Did she get an R4 sticker for the car. If she has an R4 sticker she will have a good run in, without it she should go to Lara and catch a bus.

Mags is in the government pavilion working at a stand for the company she works for... she presumes she will get a sticker but will find out on Monday if she has one for sure.

She is stressing about it as she got suckered in as her boss is flying out to Thailand so she has been roped into doing it...

Yeah mate the train and bus for the win. Regardless of where your coming from park your car at a Lara Station and bus it in. The buses are constant and have a special lane and drop you off at the main gate.

Tried to upload pics a few times today but it kept crashing damn it. Storm was not as severe as yesterday by a long shot. Looked like it would hang around a long time but moved over us quickly.

Was a pretty quiet day there today but got done great pics. It will ramp up tomorrow as the Trade days start.

I believe so. Infact I'd've astounded if they were it here. Alway War Birds and the WW1 by planes are awesome!!! They had to put in a grass runway for the especially. Should be a great show

The F22 RAPTORs arrived on Sunday Night afternoon around 4:30pm. what a sight they are. very distinctive noise. Unfortunately they are for Static Display only and wont be flown for display damn it! they are truly extraordinary!

Seriously the most frightening, exhilarating, awesome, get-the-F-out-of-here plane I've ever seen in action (2011 show). I'd drive the length of the country just to see it again. Love 'em all though and really looking forward checking out the WW1 birds this year.

Mate I am spewing the Raptors are not going to Play this year! They are amazing.

I was lucky enough to get in behind the barrier of the F22s today for a refuel of the top secret Drone parked in with them. No one is aloud near these things and the US MPs where all over me. A bit of negotiating and 1 of our crew was aloud in and I was quickest off the mark :) was pretty kool!

The Mighty A400! What a Plane!! one of the most impressive on the Tarmac at 45m long! i did a refuel on it today and got into the Cockpit and sat in the pilots seat! Amazing! Touch Screen, Headup Display! it took 35,000Lt and is able to fly Only 10 hours on that fuel!!!.

I will post some pics here and tonight upload the ones took today of it! Awesome! I also got into the C17 today which Dwarfs this thing and is Jet powered! got pics of that too and will upload tonight.

Unfortunately the the A400 is taking off tomorrow and will not be on the ground on Public days. stoked to have got a good look at it and the French Crew were great guys.

i then went over to the Aussie Hercules. I think it was an F model. Pretty cool plane but i should not have gone there straight from the A400 as it was dwarfed by comparison. lol

Great plane though and certainly paid its dues for us over time. They are fairly agricultural though, even the A400 and the C17 were not built for passenger comfort.

The Aussie Lads were great, they had a joke about the awesome A400 too but happily showed off their Herc. Gave me a good walk through and up into the Cockpit for the win!

yeah i tell you what, i have posted a few pics of these things for a reason. they are obscene to look at they are so awesome! unfortunately they are Static Display only this year but i was here on Sunday when they flew in and the noise was unmistakable.

The did full display flights last show and simply Blew my Mind mate. Beyond Physics! Unforgettable!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for you on Sunday Daz. Heartbroken the B1B Lancer isn't making a comeback. Seriously the most frightening, exhilarating, awesome, get-the-F-out-of-here plane I've ever seen in action (2011 show). I'd drive the length of the country just to see it again. Love 'em all though and really looking forward checking out the WW1 birds this year.

Dad was here for a frosty and spit roast last night, showed him your pics Darren.
He really enjoyed looking through them particularly the old bird's, said he thought it was great you put cockpit pics up as well.

The A400 is the TD4.2T of the cargo planes :old school updated , loads of torque ,and can do the heavy lifting thanks Dazz impressive bit of kit . Check out you tube clips particuly the Paris Airshow .

Hahaha nah mate i only drove it for about an hour. Did 5kms. Was heavy on the steer for a brand new car that was empty. But its free and these where the only pics i took today. 5 Airshows and i dont get as click happy as i used to be. Lol

$68 entry and bring my own food and drinks (non-alcoholic). IMO fantastic value for a day full of interesting displays and sensational action in the air. I don't buy food or drinks there coz yep there's the rip off. Overall much cheaper than most major events and the bang for buck keeps me coming back every show (bi-annually).

Yep $200 family ticket could be a budget breaker. I'm lucky the mrs would rather do anything but go watch planes and I meet up with a mate i don't get to see often.
