Hi All,
I'll cut a long stroy short - I have a 2008 patrol with the ZD30 CRD had a squealing noise on turbo side, found it to be a blown exhaust manifold gasket however, looks like it had been fixed previoulsy (before I bought it) and they snaped the front two head studs, making a hell of a mess getting the broken studs out.
Anyway I now have the head off and getting fixed - they're going to weld up the stud thread holes and retap threads. Due to the heat from welding they have to regrind the valves.
My Question is: Do you think I'll will have to replace shims in the cam followers, due to the regrind, with different size shims? I'm not a great mechanic, just having a crack due to lack of funds to get the job done by a professional.
