With a lot of different opinions on fitting snorkels to dual fuel 4x4s .
I rang the installer that fitted the gas system back in 2011. My system is a Stag direct injection and have been told that a snorkel won't effect the running/performance of my vehicle.
Now with that information I've started to price snorkels. I probably could fit it myself, but for now I'll pricing for a supply and fit.
Prices.
Opposite lock Melton - Safari $680.
ARB Thomastown - safari on hold for 15min I hang up.
TJM Coburg - airteck $705
Xtreme 4x4 automotive Hoppers crossing (authorized ironman installer) - ironman $650.
I like the look of the safari and ironman ones.
If I go down the path of having it fitted, the O/L seems OK for $30 more, but if I can get an ironman for under $600 of course that's better.
These above prices are straight off the phone, no mention if anything or anyone. Do they seem about right?

Seems about right installed.
Snorkels in question are around the 300 mark so going on $100/hr seems right.

Would you like me to ask and see if we can get a bit more off.
Avoid the ebay "specials" the contours may not fit the body.
plastic used may not be the best UV wise, plus templates are not to scale most of the time

Thanks 3D, but I don't really like the look of them. From what I understand that's the only snorkel that they do, would they install an ironman if I was to supply?
Not going to touch the eBay ones, going to do it once, going to do it right.

I ended up getting it done by piranha off road installed for $285 ( there was a miscommunication on the phone quote, as I thought they said $90 installed - but he said $90/hr).
Either way I was still happy as they were able to fit me in on the same day which worked out well as I had that day off work and they were only 5 minutes up the road

Will do the ring around again. This time for an install of an ironman one. If I can buy it for $297 and get it installed for under $300 which looks achievable, I'll be happy with that.
Thanks gents.

Pretty sure that is just the labor he's talking about. Unless I'm wrong?
Mine was fitted at ARB thomastown, and was around $550 all up from memory. Safari for a CRD Patrol.

Where was that ?
G'day mate, that was at Perth 4x4 in Balcatta, really tidy job I reckon.
Just double checked the receipt, was just under $550 for supply and fitting, but I'm not sure whether that was GST inclusive, as it was combined with a suspension lift, so I guess it could have been that plus GST. Still, even if it's $550 plus GST, that brings it in under $600 for genuine safari, so that's not too bad me thinks.
Sorry if I did get that wrong mate.
