Head Temperature

I am going to install a sensor to measure head temp. What is a safe working Temp of Td42t head any ideas welcome.

What are you trying to achieve? coolant temp, Combustion temp? 1 single sensor isnt going to give consistant readings from across the head

I just thought that seeing i have a spare gauge with thermocouple I could monitor head temp at around number 6 as this would be running the hottest. I was thinking if any thing went wrong such as a coolant hose or oil problem that would be the first place to get hot quickly.
