New exhaust system required.
Ive been told that I can get a straight thru sytem . DIY all comes with clamps and easy to install. ive seen a few that are priced at around $ 600.00 mark.
QUESTION. is this a straight forward procedure. bearing in mind no catalytic converter and no muffler. is this the way to go ?
any input would be helpful.
thanks

Hi tonym9643 sounds a bit noisy hope your not planning on moving in next door! I was going to do something similar with a 3L turbo diesel surf I had a while back but came to the conclusion that my neighbors would probably hate me and it wasn't going to be worth it as it would have a yellow sticker on it in no time and doubt it would have made it over the pits even if it was swapped back before the inspection so wasn't worth it for me plus I would probably turn the tunes up louder anyway.
I'm no pro like the others here but I cant see a standard system with a cat and muffler (stock or aftermarket) being any harder to fit than a custom one without?
Then again if you are into noisy exhausts it could be the way to go or just rip the guts out of the one you have?

If the 3ltr no problems going straight threw. The turbo knocks most the noise out of it.
You will notice a slight increase in noise but nothing like you would see in a petrol.
If you are worried though stick one muffler in. They will keep the 3" system so the muffler will still provide plenty of flow

mate all I can say is if you snap them studs in the turbo that will cost $$$
but after that the install is easy if its been bent properly.
