Hello all, Spose i should introduce myself, With a bit of a story about how i came to own a 1998 Patrol

Having just got a new job only three weeks into it and always enjoyed going offroad with my step father and his 4Cyl Turbo diesel 2006ish GU y61 patrol, I wanted for myself, I started looking at cars and had been for a while, Went through the phase of wanting a wrangler, And even an old maverick, Well about three weeks into my new job i was driving down the highway in my old Corrolla when someone clipped me from behind while they were changing lanes, Needless to say my car was wrecked, Ruined, Destroyed and there was a Six car pile up + a truck because of it.

Anyway Two weeks after that when insurance paid out and my tax return came through, I bought a 1998 (made in oct 97) Ti Nissan patrol with 190,000km's on the clock, the only thing wrong with it was the clear coat on the paint was wearing out so it no longer looked shiny, It came with stock nudge bar, Spotties, Rear floodlights (Hooked up to reverse) And it's an auto with a 4.5L Straight SIx engine, It's electronic injected so i believe that it is the TB45E, It only took me Five minutes to fall in love with it and it was a steal too, Came with all the upgades, Electric leather seats, Leather interior, Wood grain armrests you name it, Oh and cruise control.

About my past, I used to speed, Always flying down the highways at a thousand miles an hour but ever since having gotten this, Be it because someone clipped me from behind in an accident or because the engine chews through petrol, I've learned to enjoy the ride, Hell i'm quite happy to relax, Lean back and go down Kwinana in the left lane at 95 instead of 100.

I am an experienced programmer of 22 years of age, And i love my car despite it's age more than any other on the road, I look forward to modding it for more offroad use and enjoying the forum.

Afterall, What good is a "Go anywhere" car if you don't take it everywhere!
