Newbie from Norway here.

I "googled" around and discovered your nice site :-)

Today I got delivered my first real 4x4: A 1999 y61...
To be honest I am anxious about my purchase :P
I appointed a test in a technical test center tomorrow to have a complete review of the condition of the vehicle. Exiting! (Somehow)

As I do not have any information nor knowledge (user manual,...) on 'how and where' regarding this car, I would like to ask if someone could be so kind and tell me how the gearbox is working. How to choose Hi/LO, blocking, ...?

I hope eventually to share my Scandinavian adventures. Thanks!

Kind regards,
Erik

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it.
If you want to find it, go to the search bar for a universe of information.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the greatest show on earth.

From 2H to 4H is a quick pull down, can also be done while on the move under 60kph, 4L however, must be in neutral, push down and lever across in a quick motion through to 4H.

gday erik and welcome to the forum, also check if you have manual locking front hubs or auto lockers as the manuals will need to be locked in when using 4wd and unlocked when in 2wd.
