You don't really need to do any first, it's just they will both work better with each other.
That's why a lot of place sell a chip and exhaust package.

My self went with DPChip and a Taipan exhaust.

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it. If you want to find it, go to the search bar for a universe of information.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the greatest show on earth.

If I had my time again id go exhaust first as when you crank the chip up all you do is blow un burnt fuel out the exhaust so you dont really get the full benefit of it.
fitting an exhaust you will get the benifit of it straight away.

This is just my opinion

You will see far more benefits from an exhaust upgrade over a chip. If funds allow, then get both.

If I fit the exhaust without a chip to a 2010CRD do I have to watch boost etc? or can you just fit exhaust and forget? just not sure what other items need doing when you fit exhaust

Currently looking into a 3inch exhaust and chip myself for my 2008.
In my research DPchip seems to keep coming up as one of the preferred options.

Cheers

supa save yourself a lot of grief get the beudesert 2.75 exhaust no overboost issues and I also have a steinbauer chip run it on 5 and turn it up to 7.5 for towing the van
