Hello, my fuel tank is leaking and the leak is coming from the sender unit in my GQ patrol.
Nissan have told me there are 4 different fuel sender units for this car.

The tank I was told was from a GQ patrol ute.

I need to know does anyone know if there is a difference with the tanks and senders and if so how can I find out what sender I need. the sender I have in the tank right now leaks and has a 2-3mm gap around the sealing rim of the tank.

I have tried a new o ring and hasn't solved the problem

thanks for the help

Check if you have the low fuel warning light, early models didn't

As mentioned above but both senders will work but if you have the later model it needs the sensor which is horribly more expensive to buy.

Did you just buy this tank and put it in?

Struggling to understand how there is a 3mm gap though? If you have recently purchased it I wonder if there is a different sender put in.

Does the main pick up line hit the bottom of the tank before the top plate can seal properly?

When I did my auxiliary tank on the td42 using the tb42 tank needing a new sender I had to trim off some of the pick up line otherwise it wouldn't seal.

I also ran some gasket seal as it slightly leaked as well.

3mm gap from side to side not top to bottome, the sender hits the bottom then compresses the spring to sit flat in the tank, no low level warning light on it. ill try get a new seal and run some sealent

Sounds like the O ring is comming out of the grove - I had the same problem first time I fitted a senderI uses a slim knife to force the o ring into the grove.
