Should just pop out. Get a thin, flat screwdriver under the bottom edge and just pry it out.

Cheers

Tom,

Depending on your year model, some of the switch blanks need to be taken out from the back, so just be careful when trying to get them out.

With the later models, the centre console blank, opposite the handbrake lever or next to the passenger seat, needs to have the blanks cut out for the switches. They are marked on the inside to make it a little easier ....

Remove the centre console and there are screws on the inside to enable you to remove the panel

Rocket55 i have to say that looks pretty mean! Much better than the glasses holder that I don't have any use for. I will remember this when its time to start fitting extra switches for sure. Save some $$ on a pillar housing too why not!.

Top idea, looks great.
Was it a pain to run the wires, did you remove some of the roof lining.

No it wasn't too bad, pull the centre roof console out (the bit with the switches) remove the sun visor, pull the door rubber off a bit and you can flex the roof lining down enough to do what you need to do.

I've got a full write up in my build. Link in the signature.

The centre centre where the OP is talking has three sections for three switches. You cannot fit three of the Carling style switches in though. The spacing is too close.
So I modified mine to fit three. I had some black perspex lying around so out came the dremel and cut away and made up a new mounting plate which fitted in and was held in with the original plate. I have pictures but you think I can find them?
