New to the forum from darwin. Got a patrol 2.8 td recently with all its quirks. But I love it. It's big smokey and slow moving just like me. I think I'm in love again. Hope to be pretty active on this site as there are a lot of issues I need to sort out on the trol.

Welcome Matt,

Great to have another Patrollin family onboard.

Before you embark on your big trip, get the truck checked out by a good 4x4 mechanic to make sure everything obvious is OK, especially if your trip is soon - in the heat of the NT summer.

The Harmonic Balancer becomes loose on the crankshaft in the 2.8, so especially get that checked and make sure it is all OK, as this can stop you in your tracks if it chews out the shaft......

Just completed a trip to uluru and the davenport 4wd trail. It was awesome and the patrol was solid all the way.
