Please excuse my ignorance on this matter.

Was lookin at an 05 Patrol Wagon the other day and noticed it had new type flare on the front. I thought this year patrol would have had the flare shown on my 06 ute. I had a look at another wagon this time an 06 model and it also had the newer type flare.

I gather the utes had my type of flare up to 06 then changed over to the newer type sometime in 07. Am I on the money???

Question can I change over to the newer type flare without much hassle?? Reason being I like the look of the new type.

Yours in eager anticipation.

Not sure of the years but the utes generally lagged behind any changes that the wagons got and often were a year or two behind. To change to the new style of flare I believe you will have to change guards, bonnet, headlights and centre grill all to the later model style.

Others have done it in the past, but not sure if you can only swap the flares and not the whole front end.

Yes the newer square looking flares will fit, ARB sell the for $1800 plus I think.
Shop around you'll get a full set much cheaper, mate just fitted a set to his DX

The Utes don't follow the same series updates as the Wagons.

Prior to late 06 or early 07 I think they were only up to series 2
The current Cab Chassis is only up to series 4
