Hi guys, This is doing my head in and I should be leaving for a trip tomorrow!! My mixer is a 300a series 1 and 20 mounted in the box as pictured. Searching the new it seems the A31 is the filter for the 300a however I bought one today and it sits maybe 5mm to high causing an air gap between the top of mixer and where the black bonnet screws down! The old filter was an A31 but cut and squashed to fit. Eyeballing it seems like its designed for a shorter filter but with larger diameter as its a large box. Any ideas??

I used to sell these filters 20 years ago. A25 rings a bell for the same but shorter. If you get on the Ryco website you should get the sizes. Or, if there is no size listing use the Baldwin Filters site, cross the filter number over to Baldwin and find the size and cross it back.

Thanks for the post. I was unable to find an A25 on the Ryco or Baldwin site - perhaps discontinued? I tried searching via sizes on Ryco and found a few with acceptable diameter but only 63mm high - again only showed current production.
Any idea who made or supplied these air boxes, maybe I can trace one that way?

I'm pretty sure the A25 was what we used to sell but it seems its no longer available.
see this pic for the sizes around the A31

Failing this I would be ringing the gas mobs as ask them. As it seems the A31 is the correct unit for your mixer. They would know out of anyone, but this time of year may prove to be difficult.
P.s.
Did you find a turntable?
P.P.s
I found a Baldwin filter of PA1735 that has the same dimensions of the A31 which 255 x 195 x 70 but is 10mm shorter in height. 255 x 195 x 60.
It doesn't cross over to Ryco though.
Donaldson do one # P607230,
Fleetguard brand is # AF388
OEM Chrysler # 8992873
OEM Ford # C7AF-9600-N

hi guys,
Thanks for the input. I was a tad rushed so went with a new A31. Installed the filter then removed to check and it had squashed a fair bit out of shape so definitely the wrong filter for my filter box. I have checked with a few Gas shops and they are stumped aswell. I'll run this filter too the next service however of the current Ryco stock i will be measuring up these:
A1208
http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalogue/part/part/A1208
A271
http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalogue/part/part/A271
If 63/64mm is high enough the A271 should be perfect as my enclosure looks like it was designed for a larger inner and outer diameter filter than the A31... I measured a couple of A31's and they are closer to 72mm. So a filter height of 67mm is probably closer. The chaps at the local auto store advised this sort of thing has been an issue in the past and recommend i grab an accurate ruler and time to measure everything rated from 64-70mm.
I think ill just look harder for an EFI set up ;-)
P.S. - I'm still looking for a turntable as well ;-)

I had a new generation mixer that sat on top of the 4 barrell and looked OE down side was the filter was exposed
From memory it was a ford Fairlane /Cortina filter, Not as high as most
It was a 12'' filter I think
I'd look at early holden/Chev filters 300mm x 50mm to 76mm high
