Hello folks,
I've had a look around the forum and found that some say that the green coolant isn't the best to use with alloy radiators.

I've got a 4.5l with a alloy radiator but with plastic tanks. Is that a factory replacement or a aftermarket one. How will the green stuff go with this. Also how much will go in. On the wife's ve I've put 5litres of the red coolant in (all alloy)and then topped up with water.
Cheers.

I use the Nulon or Castrol coolant. Which ever is cheapest at the time. I like the concentrated coolant over the premixed as you can alter the strength if need be and its cheaper per litre to buy in concentrate. Most coolants these days are o.k with alloy.

I did use the nulon. From my research the cooling system takes a total of 15 liters, so I dropped the full 5 liters of concentrate and topped up with water.

Drove to Mildura today temp was the same all the way up and driving around town with the a/c going all day.

I'm happy that I pulled out the radiator and cleaned it.

33% mix is o.k, you can go as strong a 50% if you want but as you have found the mix you have is good.

I was under the impression that the red coolant is a newer blend of glycol and is more environmentally friendly and one of them is slightly more toxic but I'm unsure what one.

Both offering the same performance.

nissan genuine coolant being green I would stick with that IMO
