A while back (October) I got severely stuck about 80km out of Eucla in the dirt with the camper on.
My gear box wasn't the same after that. Today while driving the clutch just gave up the ghost and went (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ)
Well I assume that was what it was.
It definitely wasn't 5th gear as I rebuilt the box 4 years ago myself.
Before I pull it apart....again, is there anything else it could be?
Am I in for a surprise?

Oh yeah, I am thinking to do the clutch it would be easier to pull the engine forward rather than remove the box. Thought?

Where you stuck in deep watery mud?
A friend of mine got stuck in a bog hole at Black Cockatoo (Naracoorte) last year and had to be recovered. On the way back towing his van his clutch gave out. It was only 6 months old (had replaced faulty DMF with heavy duty single mass flywheel) and clay had gotten between the plates and worn them away in no time. The water had gone up through the drain hole. He said the same thing, BUGGA! Or something thereabouts.

Time will tell. I am not ripping it out for a few weeks yet. I have two weeks off but I really need to just rest.
In the mean time I am using the motorbike.
