Automan

Hi,
I'm Automan - I'm a keen 4WDer who lives in Brisbane. I've had a lot of 4X4's, but keep coming back to Patrols - they are strong and serviceable.
In 2009, I started with a blank piece of paper and built a GQ from a genuine grocery getter that I purchased from the original owner - sagged springs and all. The build was in response to the limitations of my daily drive - a Hummer (Yes - there is one person that didn't put ridiculous chrome wheels on their Hummer and drive it around Surfers Paradise) and getting tired of constantly detailing it after a weekend offroad. I was really stoked with the abilities of the GQ and tired of the Hummer with its build quality issues.
After rationalising the reality of running two thirsty petrol cars, I bit the bullet and bought a new Diesel GU VII in 2011. Life got busy and I didn't modify it, but have used it for light offroad use. It's now out of warranty and developed a pretty unpleasant odour over the last 3 years that has gotten worse and worse and worse. It's now time to deodorise it, lift it and have fun in it, or move on to another vehicle.
So here I am having a look at what other people who are passionate about their Patrols are doing with their rigs. Hi!
