Hi all

Have got a gu steering box in the gq, and the adjustment screw doesn't feel right. When I back off the lock nut, the adjustment screw spins both clockwise and anticlockwise about an eighth of a turn each way without any resistance, then gets very hard. It does have a slot for a flat blade screw driver, is it possible that I'm not trying hard enough to turn the adjustment screw? I noticed that the old gq box had provisions for a spanner to fit, so was easy to turn.

Just after some input from those who have adjusted their gu boxes. Is the screw bloody hard to spin?

Thanks all

Andy

no its not, it will get hard when you reach the end of the slack or at least thats what i did, dont do it till its real tight just back it off a touch

Thanks stropp. I tried to undo it to see if it was at its max adjustment, but I can't undo it either. Will have another look tomorrow.

You will fing there normally is only a little slack and if you do it up too tight the steering will be really heavy.
