I all, here to pick the brains of those in the know. I started pulling the head off of my patrol today, td42t, and as I pulled off the air cleaner I noticed that the rocker cover was covered in lots of oil, higher than it should have been, and lots of it. It's higher than the tappet cover so don't know where it could have come from... It is also mixed with a bit of carbon.

Any ideas, as to what happened? Where it's coming from, etc?

Thanks in advance.

I'll post up some pics from my phone

Was there a hose on the breather? Likely the breather is blocked and it is escaping via a now stuffed gasket.

Was thinking the same.
While you have it apart get a pro vent or similar and plumb that rocker cover mount to it..

Ok thanks guys. There was a hose on the breather. I was just confised as to how it is above the gasket instead of below it.

Oil will spread uphill with the slightest of dust. Makes its own ladder if you like.
