Hi All,
Just putting it out there, has anybody put a 550 V6 navara motor into a GU patrol how does it go and what would a ball park dollar figure be.
Also I heard along time ago that a LSD out of a navara would bolt straight into the front diff housing of a Patrol, if so would it be advisable
Thanks,

Hell yeah that would be my choice , haven't heard anything in my travels.
Keep checking the mags someone will do it.

Most here including myself would opt for either an Auto or air locker in the front.
I hear this all the time but dont know if its possible fitting front Navara diff into a GU

Give it a go. Anything is possible.
But don't forget the gu has nearly a ton over the Ute. So the wicked up and go you get I'm the Ute will be some what lost

For the money and headaches I would do a TD42 conversion or if you want something different, chuck a Cummins in it. Getting it to fit may not be the issue but plumbing and wiring would be hell. Especially a late electronic motor like this into an older car.
Would be interesting though...

I have the write up here somewhere about the rear LSD..I'm pretty sure it was a pathfinder rear lsd fitted into the front diff in a GQ...was heaps of shimming and a lot of work...the bloke that did it wrote along the lines if you lots of time to tackle it yourself,or money and get someone else to do it....it was in a write up on 4wd action but way back in 09 me thinks..might try and find it oneday again and have a read through it
