Spare tire in back of car -

Has anyone has mounted their spare tire in the back of the car? If so can you post some pics?

If by 'in the back of the car' you mean inside a wagon etc then consider the situation when you have a flat and the tyre is covered in mud. Then of course there is the loss of storage room in the back and accessibility... Do you use you vehicle for long trips (where storage space is important) or is this just a w/end 4wding thing?

I've had a flat in wet/muddy/raining conditions and the last thing I wanted to be doing is spending any more time than necessary dealing with said mud covered tyre than just tossing it on the rear tyre carrier (that's already messy enough)...

I make cover plates for when you remove your cargo area seats, I had an extra one made 8mm thick.
and welded some 50x50x2mm rhs and a plate to suit the stud pattern.
Suits my needs and gets the wheel off the back door, I made a faux wheel to replace it and use that for storage
Since these pics I have fitted a half cargo barrier

no I have a genuine Nissan 3.5t towbar I found that plastic cover at a 4x4 shop.
