I noticed on the weekend that my patrol is sitting an inch lower on the front LHS, I checked underneath and all the bushes seem ok, I'm suspecting a faulty shock absorber. Looks like mine has a stock setup, I might aswell upgrade to a 2 inch lift and new shocks all round. Any advice on brands or better still what to avoid would be much appreciated??

Very unusual for it to sag on the left as the driver, spare tyre and sub tank are all on the right, they generally lean to the right.
Also the shock carries no load and is a Spring dampener so your problem will be a spring.
I would go Old Man Emu for a 2" lift on a Patrol. Bang for buck it's a winner.

My ute also sagged on the left hand side.
I went with Dobinson 2" springs and shocks. Rate them highly as I did not even notice them on recent trip to the Cape.

Hi, I have lifted mine 2" with Lovells springs and shock-aborbers. This looks great and when I measured before and after this gives real slightly more than 2" of real lift. I chosen "medium" as I do not load more than 200kg. But you can obviously chose the higher-stronger load option.
From what I learned form the guys who were putting this set on my Patrol - as of today only Lovells is still producing suspension in AU not in China. For last years they were using Dobinson - and they are the leader of V8 from GM mounters to the patrols and all of them are using Lovells - they say that the claims stopped to come when they started to use Lovells.
Hope this will help.
You can go and see my profile I put there few pictures of my Patrol which is now on 2" Lovells lift with new tiers from Goodyear.
Best to U,
Krzysztof

Take into account any future mods that you may do, like dual battery, winch, towing, etc etc
otherwise you will be changing your coils for a heavier rate

Kings Springs on the Gold Coast make springs, and have done for MANY years. I have slightly heavy duty (20%) no lift and they work a treat, even on the Plenty !!

That is complete nonsense, my friend. There are plenty that still manufacture in Australia.

Hi Krzysztof.
Lovells may be the only ones that your suppliers can get from Australia at the moment. There are others ranging from big names to custom spring makers. ARB still get their springs made in Australia as far as I know (by Kings?).
Lovells seem to have a good reputation even though I have not tried them, so if you can get them in Europe then its a good thing.
