Thursday, Friday & most of Saturday were hot & sunny. The deluge came late Saturday arvo, briefly looked like clearing up & then continued for most of the night, making the wet clay ground treacherous as Bob discovered when retrieving his shrimp net. Carp, Cod, Silver Perch & unfortunately a couple of tortoises were caught. All returned to the water to live another day with the exception of the Carp of course. Great camp oven roasts with a great bunch of reprobates in a great spot. Roofy & Bob were thankful for their towed vans, my rooftop tent kept me warm & dry, Mudnut’s tent got a bit damp & I suspect the Threedogs wished he’d had his camper rather than the swag with him when the rain continued through the night. Janderson called in to say G’day on Thursday befoe heading off to the High Country. TD’s mates Wayne & Pricey made up the numbers.

The new Forum Gathering Cod Champion is Bob, congratulations mate, hope the ankle comes good soon.

Mudnut is still up there enjoying the peace & serenity for a couple more days.

Some more pics.

@ Mego the weather came from your way, boy did it hiss down, big winds, hail, horizontal rain lol

Tried a light bracket , simple tp make easy to use, see pic
Fuel wise I did 470k and used 70 litres of fuel for a cost of $90 not $120 like I said up there
Thats on 285s mud pattern sitting on 110kph so about 15/100k,
reasonably happy with that

All gear cleaned , re oiled what ever needed to be done, then I laid it all out and started culling.
The self infating mattress can stay behind takes up way too much room, where as a sheep skin
will suffice for the sake of a couple of nights, you are either very tired or full of juice anyway.
My new 20 ltr water storage tank will be ready next week, that will store vertically or lying down.
All knives have been re-sharpened, good thing too as a packed in the rain and all the fat had gone a tad rancid.
boiling water put an end to that, the camp ovens were ok as I used foil liners, they were cleaned as soon as I
arrived home. This is where I miss Jack and Crooza those two were the best camp oven cleaners ever lol
Tyson and Billy are useless in this area.

Going to trial these bulls eyes LEDs and the cob leds on my awning.
Those strip leds are shite ImO.
FYI where the wires come out of the housing on the cob lights put a few drops of super glue there
the tin outer may break the insulation. these will throw more than enough light IMO

I had an absolute ball. It was over a 1000k round trip for me, but it was worth it to meet TD, Cuppa MC Cranky and TD's mates, John and Wayne, and also to see Bob and Roofy again. When the fish were quiet, and the roasts were eaten, I was entertained with many a deep discussion, ranging from sport to politics.

I just have to show, once again, the cod and the decent size silver perch I caught. They reckon the silvers are endangered, but I have caught heaps of them. I will have to find a waterway down here that has been stocked with silvers, so I can have a feed of them.

Keep cranking that coffee handle, Cuppa...

It is over 6 weeks since the trip and I am now out of the Moon Boot and the Doc says the Ankle is recovering nicely.
Still rather tender with a few twinges of pain and usually during the Night which the Doc says will last another couple of months.
So now to arrange another Fishing Trip LOL
