Does anyone know what the rubber ‘seal' which sits under the gear lever boot is called, or have a part number for it. I can’t quite envisage what it looks like but recall when I fitted the central console that the rubber was damaged, & on a longer drive we are getting unpleasant hot engine smells in the cab coming up from under the gear lever boot. If anyone has bought a replacement online a link would be great.
The flexible joint in the exhaust is all sooty, (has been ever since I bought the vehicle) so that may be where the smell is coming from. Have been driving with the window open, but will get the exhaust sorted when I can afford a 3” exhaust system. In the meantime I want to replace that rubber.

Thanks Clunk, ‘boot’ was the word I needed.
Just ordered one from Patrolapart. They are helpful folk. I was looking on their web site & listed is a ’Nissan Patrol GU Gearstick Boot, but it’s round & my hazy memory recalled that what I remember being split was larger & rectangular or square. Anyway the Patrolapart chap was on the ball, & my recollection was correct. The part I needed is a ‘Gearstick Lower Floor Boot’. They have them, but not listed on the web site. Unfortunately it also costs a fair bit more than the round Gearstick boot. $90 delivered. Pricy bit of rubber, but if it stops MrsTea whinging about ‘fumes’ it’ll be worth it. Might even help to keep water out when fording creeks.... so had to be done. Next will be a replacement exhaust.
Lesson learned - if I can’t find what I want on Patrolapart’s web site - phone them anyway.
