G'day everyone,

I have the 1997 GQ RD28T and have just installed a second hand motor. Can anyone tell me if there is an earth wire to the alternator please?

The wiring diagram shows the earth to the condenser which is on the same circuit as the alternator but I dont have the condenser installed yet. I keep blowing the 75a fuse on the alternator circuit.

Cheers,
Rob

OK. Im a wally.

Just found out that I have connected the earth wire for the AC condenser to the Alt...

Lesson learnt. Take photos of absolutely everything before you take it apart....

Cheers,

Rob

Yes Mat thanks.

Got it squared away this morning.

Now I can concentrate on finishing this rebuild and get it back on the road.

Cheers,

Rob

do the big 3 while you got your alternator out.
personally running a new ground to the chassis isnt going to hurt your car, if anything its going to do you car good.
