Hey Guys,

I've been looking at these extractors.

The above obviously not the high end stuff.

I'm wondering whether any performance advantage from installing the above.

I'll be keeping the factory exhaust muffler bit(not planning to upgrade that as well).

I'm planning to buy the above bit and cut-weld the existing exhaust flange or some similar exercise.
I haven't done the home work about how easy it is yet or the end bit diameter, or whether I need any sandwich bits, etc.
The above extractors don't have the flange.

That means I need to buy a one and weld it, doesn't it?

I'll be doing my own welding with a MIG welder.

I'm only planning to buy and hook up the above extractors or similar budget one, but won't be replacing the whole exhaust system.

So, is this exercise worth any performance gain?!!!

Are there any downsides of having extractors? Like excess heat getting trapped near the exhaust and affecting the LPG converter, solenoids, etc?

Thanks

I asked this same question of a mate that tunes speedway vehicles on his dyno. For any real performance gain you need to have pipes that are specifically tuned , and a hi flow muffler etc. With an injection system fitted it would help to make these asthmatic engines breath easier. Alitis is the man to ask about the RB30.

That's cool Mud. I'll message George.

Hi flow mufflers are bit expensive I reckon. It can end costing a grand if I go down that path I reckon.

I'm slowly heading towards fuel injection conversion.
Since I cleared up the LPG/electrical related performance issue, the motor runs heaps better and have more power than I can remember.
I've been working on clearing up the LPG plumbing, electrical wiring and other electrical issues.
Just found out the small brake oil leak from the caliper I rebuilt few weeks ago(leaking from the hose).
I end up replacing the whole caliper with the hose with a secondhand unit.
The rebuilt was a waste of money, but probably wasn't a waste of time, 'cos I learnt how to do it fairly quickly. It will come handy sometime.
