Half a tick off our bucket list..
Left Rosedale approx 5pm Friday night, got to our first camp, Horseyard flat, Moroka Rd about 7.30. Had the place to ourselves, so crashed in the hut that night.

Up early Saturday morning to beat the heat. Fhttp://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h453/katwoman001/Billy%20goats%20bluff%20nov%20%202014/IMG_1189.jpg (http://s1110.photobucket.com/user/katwoman001/media/Billy%20goats%20bluff%20nov%20%202014/IMG_1189.jpg.html)
irst stop. The Pinnacles.
Nice easy drive. Walk about 200 metres to the house, then almost vertically another 100m up to the fire tower. They say on a clear day you can see the ocean from up there. Not quite clear enough for us, that day.

Going down was not a challenge at all, although slow due to the steep rocky sections. I think I need to look at lockers now, as I had to ride the brakes quite often but The 60 just walked down.http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h453/katwoman001/Billy%20goats%20bluff%20nov%20%202014/IMG_2816.jpg (http://s1110.photobucket.com/user/katwoman001/media/Billy%20goats%20bluff%20nov%20%202014/IMG_2816.jpg.html)

Made it to Talbotville via the Crooked River tk by around lunch time. By then it was getting pretty warm, so found a shady tree and did nothing all arvo.

If you like your privacy while camping, Talbotville is not the place to be during summer.. Lots kids, motorbikes and p!ssheads.. Left T'ville 8.30ish on Sunday, coffee at Black snake Creek hut, then home.

All in all, a nice weekend. Only noticed some damage when we got home. Not sure why this happened.

Hoping to do it again, but going up, this time. Also hoping to do Blue Rag in 4/5 weeks time.

We camped at otooles flat Friday and Saturday night, it is like Talbotville in that it's a very large, open camp ground and unfortunately it attracts wanker, using chainsaws at 12am and pumping music until 4am...

That damage is typical of Land cruisers I take it you have a rear locker fitted, to prevent it happening
again drill out all the studs and up grade to 12mm studs and cups off a later say 78 troopy,
no more broken studs if you cant do this work I may know a shop that can help you

Yeah, miles of bush and the bikes have to scream up and down the main road...
But it is fun to sit back and watch the soft-cock campers set up.. One bloke was trying to set up his awning and it was bolted upside down on the car !! Funny.

No rear locker... The 60 doesn't even have a snorkel ! But thanks for the info. I'll pass it on.

We did not have motorbikes... They are not allowed at O'Tooles!
I bet they just zoom up and down in a straight line and never even see 3rd gear? Hahaha wankers!

Not much water about, ATM. You gotta walk a far way to find the deep holes. As long as you have paper maps or a good GPS it's pretty easy to get around. Most of it is sign posted these days.
