Yes, and make sure you are sitting down. Wreckers are much cheaper.

I have a non OEM eleccy transfer pump in my Ute.
There will be a some dicking around if you go down that path as you will need to fit ballast resistance to match the factory pump circuit impedance.
If you don't then the sub tank controller will think there is a fault and you can't transfer.

The other option is to go to a fully manual system but that is also a PIA as you need to change the wiring at the controller.

Hi I've pulled out the pump opened it up I think fuel has made its
way into the foam area and where the wires connect was black'.
I'll find some wreckers tomorrow and get some prices the other
way I can go is get an elect pump can get one online 7psi for $35.00
could be a way but then I'll run a new set of cables and switch and
not worry about the current system.

You might be able too. Even use the OEM switch on the dash for it... I'm sure the experts here will tell you the answer no doubt...

IIRC the factory switch is momentary so you will need to design some sort of latching relay setup to do that.

Going for a different control circuit will also mean the Sub Tank Warning Light will be also be continuously illuminated.

My aftermarket fuel pump has an 8 Ohm Ballast Resistor so the operation and warning light is 'factory' but at a lower transfer rate.
IE the transfer only happens if the main tank is not full and the sub has fuel.
Because the fuel pumps are almost always cooled by fuel it is important not to forget and accidentally leave them running
