516765167751671516725167351674 ive been searching for months for a pic of what they look like or if they would work but couldn't,so I went and got some put on stock sagging suspension and they fit beautiful ,,to me its like these tyres should have come from the factory and maybe the best alround size out there. this is the first time ever putting pics up on a computer and I was shitting my self. ive never been keen on flex shots but I just wanted to show how well the tyre tuck up in the gaurds cant find any scraping yet. I know you blokes like the big lifts and big fat tyres but what do yas think it looks like low with skinnys

Great tyre size IMO taller than the 285's that are far more popular because of the "wide" look, but I think performance wise the longer narrow contact patch is more effective when four wheel driving.
Good choice!

Hi, i think that 10" wild te too much.
when they stop at 25 posts chances are they are only after the manuals,
and will post anything to get the count up , Shame really as there
is much much more to the forum than just the Manuals
Not sure how you would go finding a suitable spare Outback if you required one
thats why most use 285 x 16,
My mate had this size on his 80s a few years back and kept peeling the front tyres off the bead
still dont know why, 80 only had a 2" lift.

Driving style plays a big part in rolling the tyre off the bead. Could also be a crap bead as I had on my micky t atz's

im hoping now theres a pic with them on ti rims people might not be as afraid to try them ..if more people were using this size they wouldn't be unpopular haha...I think a 16x7 0 offset would be perfect but I like the look of the ti rim

Look great mate, certainly fill the guards, are you getting any rubbing?
8 inch wide rim is perfect for the 255's, its exactly what bfg specify.

I cant find any rubbing anywhere yet ..if it was going to rub I think it would touch the top of the back wheel arch . no way could I have got my coopers st 285 75 16 traveling up into my gaurds like these without rubbing on the same offset rim because of the shape and width mainly. I think the bfg is quite a rounded tyre at the top and apart from it being skinny It seems to fit well when it really articulated..ill get round to trying them on my other gq which has a very old 2 inch lift ...im trying to work out what suspension setup im going to use,but 2 inch will be the max .I would love to try some toyos 255 taller again, but they seem not to have them in Australia, yanks get all the good stuff haha

Hi TD42Shayne
I have been running the 255/85 R16 on my 91 GQ for around 5 years now and would definitely go the same again. As you say, they tuck up under the guards well and I reckon their taller the stance suits the GQ well even if it is just something different to what everyone else is running

Another vote for the 255/85R16's, love mine in KM2's. Would prefer Toyo M55's though..
