Gday all. Looking at buying a GU Patrol and was wondering if a 2.8TD or 3.0 td would be best.

2.8 is arguably more reliable and cheaper, but the 3.0 is more powerful and can be made reliable.
What do you plan to use the car for?

Go the Gu's. Welcome mate, I prefer the 4.2 or 2.8's. The 3 ltrs are all or nothing power [ in my opinion]. Either way any gu is a good option.

It comes down to what you want it for, I have 2.8 which currently suits my needs, for how long though ???
Slowly finding it doesnt have the grunt now im takling a bit more than novice.
