HELP - GU iV Carpet mystery underfelt

Took the carpet and seats out of a gurney, get rid of the NT dust.

I have a piece of felt left over!!

About 6 inches by eight inches more or less square, four big holes in each corner, and a big slot down the middle.
I cant for the life of my figure out where it goes!!!

I would guess around the gear stick... assuming its an auto :/

are there any inspection plates on the floor??
Looks too small for the gearstick as that has a rubber boot
OR it could be the japanese playing mind games with you. lol

what about the hand brake?

Yes plenty fo plates like fuel tank etc.
Was rather hopeing to find someone that had taken their carpet out

could always pull it all out and start again ;)

Did that. Had everything out. Checked it all. Hence the query. Hping to find someone who had actually removed their carpet, and could provide an informed response.

mmm, don't remember ever seeing such a piece, mine is a series one tho, most of the carpet underlay should be attached to the underside of the carpet, the only loose underlay areas i can remember are around the gearbox tunnel under the centre console etc.
