1998 Rd 28 Wagon. Can anyone tell me when the intercooler fan is meant to come on. I have never heard it.
Thanks in advance chaps.

I would think an intercooler fan would be on during slow speeds only. As it would probably hinder the air flow when doing freeway speeds.

My mates fan is quite loud when on and has probably never worked.

It's obviously something that a previous owner has installed. So you'd have to see if a thermo switch was installed and see if it show any temp settings.

Is that a "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" philosophy, Cobber

I know what you mean but it cracked me up when I read it... sorry :o

Engine temperature has to be above 67°C and engine speed above 1600RPM for the fan to come on.

edit... that should read intake temperature has to be above 67°C not engine temperature.

Your referring to the clutch fan for the radiator? Or did the RD28's come out factory with an intercooler fan? Never really looked at an RD28 engine TBH...

Yes they have a factory fitted I/C fan.
