This is the biggest / longest thunderstorm in a while! I'm just outside of melb and it's gotta be right above us ..

It was pretty heavy rain, lightning thunder.
Both cats woke me up shitting themselves.

Our whole house shook many times... was intense and would have loved to been up to watch it.

I.couldn't see much, well continuous flashes but no cool fork lightning

Pouring again, kinda hope it stops before I need to leave .. ah well, better now than over cup weekend, don't think our tent would hold up :rolleyes:

one house was burnt via a lighting strike in Prahran,
the house was built in 1912, bummer

Could smell something here to after the thunder,
but a change of undies fixed that lol

Slept through it.
The train was standing room only and that was 3 stops from the end of the line.
Got a later train on purpose, didn't really help.

I can't see any tell tail signs of where it struck but my bet is the 4m tv antenna on the carport and probably arced off somewhere.

Can't see any burns, I'm guessing the smell was that ozone smell you get after a strike.

Phew close call!! Never been in a house that got struck by lightning before, can't imagine how loud it'd be!!
