Last night my mates Patrol was broken into and the car fridge stolen out the back.
It was an ENGEL MT45 with a transit bag
Stolen from the Taylors Hill area in Victoria.
If anybody hears anything please let me know.

Insurance is also saying it is not covered under the car policy.

Sticky fingered mongrels. (That's just the insurance mob). Was there much damage to his Patrol.

I understand your anger, simply if it's not listed in the policy it's not covered. An insured car is that only, doesn't matter what's in it, so review your policy, list what you want covered and pay the premium. Not really that hard to understand. Lesson for us all.

just broken window and a big dint in in the roller door when they removed the fridge from the car.
the car is backed almost against the roller door with enough space to open the small door at the back

Wouldn't his house and contents cover it.

My H+C covers tools in my trailer as long as it's in my home residence. Maybe he should look into that way

That's a bugger, I have 3k of camping gear covered under my car insurance just in case.

I would have thought so as well. We had a similar event where a space case was unbolted from the mrs tray and it and it's contents stolen. Aami doesn't cover anything on the back of a ute. But luckily it was parked on my parents property and we were able to claim it through their home and contents.

I called my insurance company to find out if my fridge is covered on my car insurance, and at first they said no.
I am with RACV I found some interesting things in the POLICY, that made them say in the end after an hour of discussions, that my fridge could be covered under the car policy if stolen.

I found some interesting lines in the policy.
1. Your agreed value includes all modifications, options and accessories ATTACHED to your vehicle at the date of the incident.

So I asked for their definition of ATTACHED.
Their answer was items PERMANENTLY FIXED to the vehicle either bolted, screwed, welded or bracketed to the vehicle.
