just wondering. i just put some new springs in the rear on my maverick. one shocker was softer than the other. is this normal ? i had no problem with pushing it up, i could feel resistance pulling it back. is this stuffed?
cheers:trink13:

With a shock they should spring back out of there own accord and must be forced closed, im not a suspension expert but one being softer than other doesnt sound right (unless they are 2 different brands).. When i pulled my factory shocks out if i compressed them they wouldn't spring back out at all, i had to pull them open again.. They were well stuffed lol, sounds like your might need replacing as well..
Thats what i think anyway, just wait and see if anyone else has a different opinion

Fletcha, not all shocks will expand out on their own, only gas shocks will do that.
da, your shocks should be a matched pair, if their damping is uneven then they need to be replaced-as a pair.
Also, it is quite common for bump (compression) damping to be softer than the rebound (extension) damping. They are set up this way to give good control and a smooth ride.

thanks guys.
they are a matching pair of pedders. the drivers side has heaps of resistance and extends quickly on its own.
the passenger side is no way near as hard to compress, but slowly extends. maybe some rok shocks i think fletcha
