Hi Guys just a update , started stage 1 of fitting gauges which was oil temp and Volts in the overhead console that comes with the GU Ti patrol , the compass
/temp gauge stop working 4 weeks ago , so I replaced it . lol see pics - my template for the gauges needs some glue clean up apart from that looks good .I Connected the gauge lights to the dimmer switch and the funny thing was when the dash light are at there brightest, the gauge light dim to there lowest . it works for me .. regards Alex

p.s. still wanting what gauge readings are :-)

The dimming is working opposite to your panel because you have your gauge lighting wired incorrectly.

Instrument lighting dimming circuits work by raising earth not reducing supply.
IE your gauge lighting +ve needs to be connected to +12 volts supply and the -ve to the dimmer.

No worries.

That happens fairly often as well.
You can either change for lower wattage globes or some instruments will come with a translucent cover you can put over the globes.
