Hey guys,
I am heading on a two week trip up to flinders ranges and was wanting to get a new key cut as I only have one set.
Does the one in the pic need coding by nissan.
Can I just go and get a new one from a locksmith?
Thanks

they have chip inside the black part, a locksmith should be able to sort you out.
look where blade meets black plastic.

I believe some locksmiths can do Patrol keys prior to 06, they changed the security system after that and only Nissan can do the latter ones.

They key will need a chip in it and will need to be coded to the car as the ignition has an Imobiliser fitted. I am not sure if there is a way to pair th new key to the car without Nissan. YouTube and Google for technique.

Got one done at locksmiths about 6 months ago. $130 was the cheapest, cheaper than Mr Minit.

I got Precision Locksmiths in Bundaberg to do one for me around three months ago. $150 to supply, cut and code it in to the vehicle. The locksmith cut the key exactly the same as when it came out of the factory when it was new. Nissan wanted $280 for the same job. It pays to shop around.
