I read the following from a Holden forum today -
Quote

Over the weekend inspected the mrs VX as she said the brakes squeal. So checked over the, Over 40% on front and 90% on rear. lots of brake dust, as to be expected depending on the pad.

Anyway while driving today, A cop pulled her over and said your brakes squeal. Issued a warning and said better not catch you again with squealing brakes.

Ok, My first reaction was what the actual #### is that ? Is that even a rule ? brake squeal, Really ? all those POS cars out there and you stop her for that.
The Cop even looked at the pads and said yes you have brake pads to the mrs.

So, WTF is the go here, Iv heard some silly stories about things, But this ? really ?
So now i have to spend the weekend removing wheels, applying that anti squeak brake silicon to the pads.

Unquote

Has anyone ever been pulled over for noisy brakes??? There's bigger fish out there to chase!

Its a little off topic but I have heard (don't know them personally) that a guy got done for spinning his wheels around a roundabout when it was actually his fan belt squealing.
From someone who used to frequent commodore forums ALOT. Take most of it with a grain of salt.

I find the ford forums similar too. This place has better membership :)

G'day Enpee,
does your lady have maginficent jugs and the good officer simply wanted to chat her up or is she so incredibly, indescibably ugly that he wants her off the road?
Nothing else makes much sense.
I've had brake pads which were so hard they screamed from new till I gave up and tossed them even though they worked a treat. I've had others which silently were close to bloody useless when it hit the fan..
Hard to tell someone like that to go and get ........ though isn't it. Particularly for the poor girl picked on.
Maybe worth a note to the senior officer in the area though.
Luck
Col.
